At JSW Energy, we embarked on a digital transformation journey in 2022 and set a digital vision for ourselves. We are the pioneers in the use of digital technology across Thermal, Renewable, Hydro and Manufacturing businesses. While technology is one of the key drivers in our overall business strategy, we believe it is important to provide our employees with the necessary knowledge, insight, tools, and skill-sets to be future-ready.

Our Digital Vision

To transform JSW Energy into an insights- driven organisation, led by customer centricity and operational excellence, by imbibing “Digital” as a fabric.

Our digital transformation has been multi-faceted, driven by seamless integration of advanced platforms and the development of in-house capabilities. As part of our digital transformation journey, we implemented multiple initiatives in the past years. A key achievement of this journey has been the deployment of the JSW Energy PI System and Integrated Digital Command Centre (IDCC), which enabled real-time data acquisition and analysis across our thermal and renewable generation assets.

Key benefits of PI System and IDCC

Operational visibility

Equipment reliability

Enhance decision-making processes

Leveraging full potential of digital transformation to redefine energy sector

  • AI-driven platforms for asset monitoring
  • Adoption of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR)
  • Condition Based Monitoring (IIoT Vibration Sensors)
  • Computer Vision Platforms for Safety use cases
  • Anomalies detection
  • Advanced forecasting and scheduling techniques

A critical enabler of our digital journey has been our investment in people and change management, as we focused extensively on upskilling the workforce, nurturing digital champions across the organisation, and driving adoption through structured change management programs.

Our commitment to embrace digital technologies for optimising operations, ensuring sustainability, and enhancing customer value is evident in our strategic use of emerging technologies across renewable energy (Wind, Solar, Hydro) and thermal power plants. We have adopted a forward-thinking approach, integrating cutting-edge technologies to meet the growing demand for clean, reliable, and efficient energy.

Our digital strategy exercise prioritises five key initiatives (mentioned below) for the digital transformation journey, which also aligns with our strategic objectives. Our strategies are built upon advanced digital platforms and tools that provide real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and automated decision-making to enhance asset performance and operational efficiency.

Five Initiatives aimed at Digital Transformation

Business Development & Planning

Capital Expenditure Project Excellence
