Stakeholder Consultation for Green Hydrogen Project at Vijayanagar

JSW Energy conducted a local stakeholder consultation meeting at Vijayanagar in connection with its Green Hydrogen Project being considered under the Article 6.4 mechanism of the Paris Agreement.

The consultation was organized to share project information in a clear and accessible manner, understand local stakeholder views, and receive comments, suggestions and concerns from people who may be directly or indirectly connected with the project.

The meeting was attended by representatives from nearby villages, Gram Panchayat members, academic and technical experts, and representatives from JSW including the Plant Head, CSR Head, EHS Head and carbon market experts. The discussion focused on how the project supports India’s Green Hydrogen Mission and the broader transition toward cleaner industrial development.

During the meeting, JSW representatives explained the purpose of the GŚreen Hydrogen Project, its expected environmental benefits, and its relevance in reducing dependence on fossil-based industrial inputs. The team also highlighted JSW’s continued focus on environmental management, workplace safety, community engagement and sustainable development.

The CSR and site teams shared ongoing social development initiatives being undertaken in and around the project area, including activities related to education, skill development, women empowerment, community welfare and local capacity building. Participants were encouraged to share their views on the project, including possible environmental, social and community-level impacts.

The consultation also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to understand the carbon market context, the Article 6.4 mechanism, and the importance of stakeholder feedback in project design, implementation and monitoring

Invitation for Further Comments, Suggestions and Grievances

JSW Energy remains committed to transparent and inclusive stakeholder engagement. Any stakeholder who could not attend the meeting, including members of nearby villages, minority communities, women’s groups, youth, local institutions, civil society organizations, academic experts, or any person who may be affected by or interested in the project, is invited to share comments, suggestions or grievances.

Feedback may be submitted in Kannada, Hindi or English. Stakeholders may also request assistance in recording their comments orally. All grievances and suggestions will be reviewed by the concerned team and addressed in a fair, timely and transparent manner. Confidentiality will be maintained where requested, and no stakeholder will face any disadvantage for raising a concern or providing feedback.

JSW Energy will continue to engage with local communities and relevant stakeholders as the project progresses, in line with applicable regulatory requirements, sustainable development safeguards and stakeholder engagement principles under the Article 6.4 mechanism.
