JSW Energy Utkal Limited 

JSW Energy Utkal Limited (Formerly known as Ind-Barath Thermal Power Plant) is a 700 MW Thermal Power Plant acquired under NCLT proceedings in December 2022. The plant is strategically located in the vicinity of coal fields in Jharsuguda district of Odisha. Unit I was revived and made operational in January 2024, while Unit II is synchronized and received a Commercial Operation Date (COD) certificate in March 2025. This solidifies JSW Energy’s commitment towards supporting the growing energy demand with reliable and efficient power solutions. The Utkal Thermal Power Plant utilizes domestic coal and sells power through the merchant market and bilateral contracts.
